For many Indians, especially those from the middle class, getting into an IIT has been a dream come true due to the promising placements and strong alumni network. However, with the emergence of TVF's Kota Factory, some now perceive the pursuit of entering an IIT as increasingly bleak and perhaps even pointless. An alumni of IIT-Delhi recently shared his perspective on X (formerly Twitter), sparked by watching the third season of Kota Factory. Pulak Mehta expressed that the journey to secure a place in an IIT feels futile and not worthwhile, suggesting it brings minimal long-term impact to an aspirant's life. Reflecting on his own experience of cracking IIT-Delhi a decade ago, he commented that apart from receiving admiration from others, achieving this feat doesn't significantly alter one's trajectory. Mehta opined that after ten years, the majority of students find themselves in similar situations regardless of their initial efforts. He advocated for a more relaxed approach, emphasizing the importance of enjoying life rather than enduring the stress and potential mental health challenges associated with intense preparation for exams like the IIT entrance.
