AICTE invites applications from faculty members for its newly launched quality improvement certification course

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has recently launched a postgraduate certificate programme known as the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP), aimed at the academic development of faculty members in core engineering disciplines.


This certification programme will be conducted at AICTE-approved host institutes or QIP centers at no cost to the participants.The programme covers emerging areas such as AI/ML/Data Science/Data Analytics, Augmented (AR) / Mixed (MR) / Virtual Realities (VR) / Cyber Physical Systems, IoT and Drone Technology, Intelligent Transport Systems, Robotics, and 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing. Eligible participants include regular or permanent faculty members from degree or diploma-level institutes in core engineering disciplines, with at least five years of teaching experience.


The programme is free for up to 50 faculty members per host institution.The six-month certification programme will be delivered in hybrid mode, encompassing awareness, expertise, and application elements.


Participants may also earn up to six credits through NPTEL courses during the QIP-PG certification. Upon completion, candidates will receive an evaluation report and a certificate from the host institutions.The programme, in partnership with industry experts, aims to align faculty teaching with the latest industry trends and needs.


This initiative seeks to enhance the quality of engineering education by equipping faculty with advanced knowledge and skills in emerging technologies, thereby improving the teaching methods and educational outcomes for students.AICTE chairman, Prof TG Sitharam, states, "The AICTE-QIP-PG certificate programme in emerging areas represents a significant commitment to the academic development of faculty members in core engineering disciplines.


By keeping educators updated with the latest advancements, AICTE aims to enhance their teaching capabilities and the overall quality of engineering education in the country."
